Mangaluru: The long pending demand forAC Volvo buses to Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) from the city, is likely to happen in a month, stated KSRTC officials.

Rajesh Shetty, divisional controller, KSRTC, Mangaluru, told TOI that a preliminary meeting has been conducted, after directions from Karnataka state minister of transport B Sriramulu on Friday. The buses should be sanctioned and approved by BMTC, which holds meetings every quarter in this regard. If all goes well, the service is likely to start within a month, he added.

He added that the MIA authorities will give details of international and domestic flights to the KSRTC, to chalk out bus timings to the airport. “We will fix suitable timings, so that maximum number of air passengers benefit from the service,” said Raviraj, adding that there is also demand to start a similar service to MIA, from Kasaragod and Udupi.
